March 8th is International Women’s Day, a day to celebrate the achievements and strength of women around the world. At Gibson, we are pleased to support and uplift the incredible female-identifying individuals that make up Team Gibson! We are reflecting on our collective accomplishments from the past 12 months.
Women Development Program
Gibson’s Women Development Program is a two-day program held at our Head Office in Calgary that recently celebrated the 4th year of annual programming. The program invites female-identifying students to have an opportunity to learn about the energy sector and network with leadership at Gibson, including other women in the organization. To date, the program has been successful at offering an introduction to careers at Gibson… as we have hired 51% of total attendees since the program’s conception!
Women In Capital Markets
Gibson was proud to host high school students through the Women In Capital Markets program. Gibson team members from all levels of the organization presented to students to inspire them about a future in the energy industry and what opportunities are available.

Women @ Gibson celebrates its second birthday on International Women’s Day this year! With more than 22% of total Gibson employees as members, the employee resource group is committed to empowering women of Gibson to achieve success and grow on their own terms. Women @ Gibson offers members opportunities to connect and support each other and were proud to offer events throughout the year!
Supporting An Inclusive Community
In 2022, 54% of initiatives funded by Gibson had a diversity and inclusion focus. For International Women’s Day in 2022, we invited all employees to celebrate their female colleagues by submitting an appreciation form. More than 750 celebrations were submitted and $6,000+ was raised for women-focused charities where Gibson lives and operates! Being an ally to women across the energy sector is also important to Gibson. Gibson was proud to be a title sponsor for the Calgary Women In Energy: Allies In Energy event in 2023.
