Student & New Grad Programs

Women Development Program

Since 2020, Gibson Energy has hosted the Women Development Program each year, that is designed to provide a unique 1–2-day experience for female identifying students to get an inside look at what it’s like to work for a publicly traded energy company, and gain exposure to the career opportunities available at Gibson! The Program offers a space to learn about various facets of our business, including the opportunity to network with other students, senior leadership and the C-Suite.
Our goal of the Program is to inspire the next generation and to increase the representation of women in the industry by educating students of what is possible, learning firsthand from our women in leadership at Gibson. Why? Because we believe that increasing representation of underrepresented groups is essential to our workforce, and the industry to continue to drive innovation, economic growth and sustainability.

Indigenous People Development Program

The Indigenous Peoples Development Program at Gibson Energy is a 1-day experience for our INDSpire Scholarship recipients. The Program is a significant initiative aimed at providing a unique opportunity for Indigenous students, and furthering our commitment toward reconciliation as an employer committed to Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR).
The primary goal of this program is to provide valuable insights, experiences, and employment to our INDSpire scholarship recipients, while also fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and contributions. By participating in this program, our scholarship recipients will gain a broad perspective of what it means to work at an energy company, and develop meaningful connections within Gibson Energy.

Gibson in the Classroom

Did you know you can grow your career in your local community? Hardisty, Alberta is the heart of Gibson Energy’s most major facility, which touches more than 25% of barrels exported from Western Canada. With best-in-class connectivity to inbound and outbound pipelines, our Hardisty Terminal offers the most flexibility to our customers as they transport their products to end markets.
Our mission is to inspire young talent by educating students about the career opportunities available right in their backyard, and how they can pursue these career paths after high school. Gibson Energy’s Hardisty assets are home to over 100 employees who reside in the town of Hardisty and the surrounding communities.
We are visiting several high school classrooms each year, including Central High Sedgwick Public School, Hughenden Public School and Irma School. Eligible students from each of these schools are encouraged to participate in the Gibson in the Classroom (Hardisty) Scholarships.
