Celebrating Earth Day and Supporting Our Communities

April 21, 2023

Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22 to raise awareness about the need for sustainability for the environment and in our communities. For Gibson and as a part of our business practices, sustainability, environmental responsibility, community investment and Indigenous relations go hand in hand.

The Indigenous communities of Canada have long-standing relationships with the land, recognizing the importance of taking care of it for future generations. As part of our commitment to these shared values, Gibson is building a robust Indigenous Relations program, recognizing that it plays a critical role in connecting with, supporting and learning from Indigenous peoples. Gibson also understands the importance of education in building a sustainable future, and as such we invest in programs that provide youth with opportunities to learn about the environment and take action to support it.

On Earth Day, let’s reflect on our responsibility to protect the environment and treat it with care. Together we can connect with communities where we operate and work towards building resilient, sustainable and prosperous futures. It’s initiatives like developing partnerships with communities and implementing responsible environmental practices that make a difference. Let’s take a pledge to work towards making our world a better and more sustainable place for us all!
